So week one of school is done and so far I think I can handle it, I dropped sculpture at the last minute so now I am taking Drawing 2, photo 2, Issues in Contemporary art, and subversive art.
Issues is an academic course and it's kind of fun to get back to the book learning but I didn't enjoy paying 145.00 for the text book which is basically a glorified photo copy of a bunch of articles, it's huge but it's just binded photocopies!
One thing I love about being a fine arts student we usually don't have to buy textbooks because there aren't any :D My photography text for first year was only $50 and it's an actual book not a photocopy!
I am super excited to get back to school I just love getting to think creatively and I get giddy with excitement at the thought of writing papers is that nerdy or what :)
I spent yesterday in downtown Vancouver at the art gallery checking out WACK the exhibit of feminist art it was pretty cool and a nice way to spend an afternoon alone I kind of enjoyed wandering around. As an added bonus I got to check out the upstairs exhibit of Jeff Wall a photographer from Vancouver that we have discussed in photo class too.
I took a few photos while I was down there too trying to finish a roll so I can get in the darkroom on Wednesday before class. I love the dark room!
Not much else is new I was able to change drum lesson to Fridays so I can keep going to those which is awesome although I am pretty sure I am the slowest learning drummer on earth LOL. I guess it doesn't help that Josh is a bit of a drumming natural and it comes easy to him, never have I felt so white and nerdy as I do when I can't find the beat :D it sucks!
So school is four days a week and I am sure I will be at school most saturdays which means I am saying good bye to my social life....not that I had much of one before but if you don't hear from me and you are expecting to this is why!
Good luck with everything, Heather! You crack me up... white and nerdy, ha ha! :) I played drums on Rock Band and I SUCK at drums. Jason and I both have some part of our brain that is not connected, we just cannot drum at all! :P

I know you said your social life was facing a kiss of death, but what about your blog--as it suffered the same fate? :) Hope school is going well. I am sure it is. ttyl
